Bank of China Anniversary, City of London

The Event
The very first overseas branch of The Bank of China opened in the City of London in 1929. Nearly a century later the bank partnered with the UK Treasury to develop London as an offshore hub for ‘renminbi’, the official Chinese currency.
To celebrate 100 years of the partnership the Bank of China held a reception at its head office, off Gresham Street, nearby to the Bank of England and the Guildhall.
Production Services
EV sound reinforcement and NEC screens
Sound Division was called upon to provide audio visual services to support the event including an EV sound reinforcement system, a lectern, Shure radio-microphones and a pair of 55” NEC plasma screens for a celebratory showreel.
The Result
Highlight of the event was the presentation of a stunning silk tapestry of the late Queen Elizabeth II, created by Chinese artist, Yao Jianping, who used the finest micro silk threads, thin as a human hair.
Prince Edward, who was special guest of honour, was delighted to accept the tapestry on behalf of the Royal Family.
