Founded in 2018, Market Halls — with branches now at Victoria, Oxford Street and Canary Wharf — quickly became favourite destinations on London’s bustling street food scene. They also feature a number of highly recommended bars with a solid range of craft beers gracing the taps at each venue.

Market Halls Victoria

Market Hall, Victoria boasts eleven kitchens, three bars, a coffee shop and a rooftop terrace bar. Here you’ll find the likes of Monty’s Deli, Squirrel and Fanny’s Kebabs in this iconic industrial building — once occupied by the legendary Pacha nightclub in the early 2000s.

Market Halls Oxford Street

Market Hall Oxford Street goes next level at its flagship destination. Located within historic Debenhams store on Oxford Street, the venue comprises eleven kitchens, four bars, three dedicated events spaces, a covered winter roof terrace, plus an online studio with demo kitchen for live streaming guest chef appearances.

Occupying 35,000 sq ft over three floors, the venue offers 1,000+ seats for walk-ins, making it the largest food hall in the country. Complete with outdoor terrace, it’s a perfect event space for corporate and private exclusive parties.

Project Brief

Sound Division was asked to provide high-quality, zoned background music systems for the Victoria and Oxford Street venues, capable of providing high-energy foreground music when required.

As no two Market Halls are the same, the design, structure and materials of each building presented its own acoustic challenges. Our system design would be individually tailored to the specific requirements of each venue.

System Solutions

Market Halls Victoria

Here we opted for VUE Audiotechnik i-Class installation speakers as they offer an excellent power to size ratio at a competitive price point. On the ground floor, guests arriving at Market Hall, Victoria are greeted with background music from two compact VUE Audiotechnik i-6T loudspeakers in the entrance area.

Entering the bar and main dining hall areas, background music is provided by a further eleven i-6T loudspeakers distributed throughout the ground floor.

Upstairs on the first-floor mezzanine, a further ten i-6T loudspeakers provide audio across three separate audio zones. A total of 8.4kW of audio power, provided by three Martin Audio MA2.8Q amplifiers, allows volume levels to be increased in each zone as required.

A bespoke control interface is provided via an Apple iPad installed in a wall-mount cradle on each floor.

Market Halls Oxford Street

Once again, we selected VUE Audiotechnik i-Class loudspeakers for their favourable price/performance ratio. The sound experience starts with a pair of i-6Ts located in the ground floor entrance area, just in front of Debenham’s iconic escalator.

Moving up to the first floor, forty i-Class loudspeakers are distributed across eight separate audio zones throughot a cavernous dining space. VUE Audiotechnik i-6T loudspeakers were chosen for the dining areas and VUE Audiotechnik i-C8T loudspeakers fill the bar area with high-quality sound.

Over twenty i-Class loudspeakers are distributed across the second floor of Market Hall Oxford Street with i-6Ts selected for the terrace area. Larger i-8Ts are reiforced by four iS15 subs installed in the main dining area and event space.

Audio is routed to each zone via the BSS BLU100 networked audio processor, and controlled via Apple iPads with bespoke GUIs located on each floor.
