Bordering the southern edge of the City, and a short stride from nearby Cannon Street, Monument and London Bridge, stands all-day dining, craft beer and cocktails venue, The Listing.

A recent relaunch under new ownership has re-energised this spacious, multi-lounge and bar space with the aspiring city professional.

The Listing on Cannon Green — stretching out beneath a multiple office block — offers an exciting panorama of different front and rear table, lounge and bar areas. Where you can simply kickback and unwind with your favourite sharing platter and drinks.

Project Brief

Preparing for relaunch, Sound Division was called upon to specify, supply and install a fully controllable and flexible audiovisual system.

System Solution

High-performance speakers

For the main front lounge and bar areas, six high-performance Martin Blackline X12 600W loudspeakers were installed to handle high output levels and DJ sets. Each enclosure was flown from custom ceiling rods and yoke-brackets.

For the necessary sub-bass extension two high powered Martin SX212 1200W Dual 12” Bass cabinets are floor positioned within the space.

Flexibility – background and foreground

In the more seated and lounge bar sections Martin Audio CDD6 compact speakers were chosen for their flexibility to produce both background and a punchy foreground when needed at different times of the trading day.

To lend added warmth to this area, two Martin Audio SX112 single 12” Bass cabinets were floor positioned for all-round coverage.

Martin Audio C4.8T flush ceiling speakers were installed to provide background music coverage for the restrooms and connecting corridors.

To drive the speaker systems with ease a combination of Powersoft Quatrocanali and Crown XLi amplifiers were specified and matched to speaker performance needs.

Flexible routing of playlists, DJ and live music

Completing the sound requirement is a BSS Soundweb Blu100 digital sound processor. The configurable unit is paired with a customised, password-protected Apple iPad GUI (Graphic User Interface) control system, which is wall-mounted behind the bar for easy, flexible routing of playlist, DJ, live music and volume control.

An important part of the venue upgrade was to install a versatile audio-visual system for showing Sky sports, music videos or other required displays in the main lounge bar areas.

Projector and screen system

To fulfil the brief, a projector and screen system, consisting of a Ben-QSH753 DLP 5000 ANSI lumen projector and Sapphire 2M wide electric screen, together with a pair of Samsung 55” 4K screens were installed.

Matrix control

A Blustream IP based HD video extender and matrix control system was deployed for the managed selection, routing and delivery of video content from source to screens.
