Beaufort House, Chelsea
The Client
Beaufort House Restaurant is a stunning venue located in the heart of Chelsea and, with its “Made in Chelsea” pedigree, is perfect for post-work socialising, lunchtime business meetings or late-night partying, staying open until 3AM.
The Brasserie on the ground floor offers sophisticated all-day dining whilst Albert’s Club Room on the first floor of Beaufort House is the epitome of quintessential English charm and allows members to relax, dine and party late into the night. The Champagne Bar on the top floor is an ideal venue for drinks, dinner or dancing, especially for those with a taste for exclusivity and glamour.
Project Brief
We were initially contacted in November 2018 when we were asked to provide some extra ambience around the seated lounge areas of the top floor Albert’s Club Room and Champagne Bar and some faster moving lighting effects over the main dance floor for late night guests.
System Solution
We decided on a neat, compact Chauvet Intimidator 260 moving head lighting system: we installed four units into discrete positions off the overhead rustic timber roof frame for the main dance area and a further two in the adjacent side lounge. A 400mm rotating mirror-ball flown in the centre of the dance floor completes the party effect.
All the lighting scenes were programmed into a sleek Nicolaudie Stick-GU2 wall-mount touch screen lighting controller with eight pre-programmed settings for quick and simple operation.
The Result
Such was the success of the first solution that a year later in 2019, we were invited back to provide an identical lighting system complete with Nicolaudie control into the first floor Alberts Club Room. Again, the aim was to create extra atmosphere in the early part of the evening with slower moving lighting effects and faster lighting programmes later in the evening to enhance the party atmosphere. To liven up the look of the bar itself we also ran some LED colour-changing tape along the front edges of the bar counter to give it a club feel.
“We’re delighted with the work that Sound Division has done for us at Beaufort House,” says Louis Hysa, a director at the Chelsea venue. “They offered good advice, completed the installations in a timely manner and we’ve definitely noticed the difference it’s made, especially in the Club Room. The lighting effects have created much more of a late-night party feel which encourages guests to stay longer and take full advantage of our hospitality!”
