Friends of the Tenth: Pegasus Ball
The Client
The “Friends of the Tenth” was formed after the 10th Battalion of the Parachute Regiment took part in the the WW2 Battle of Arnhem, in September 1944.
Every year since, a commemoration service and parade has been held in the village of Somerby, Leicestershire, where the battalion was billeted before setting off to join the operation. Of the 582 men in the regiment who fought at Arnhem, 92 tragically lost their lives.
The great desire “to do more”, among many associated with the 10th Battalion, led to the formation of The Friends of the Tenth group. Their aim is to create a lasting memorial to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice at Arnhem by commissioning a commemorative sculpture to be installed in Somerby.
The Event
One of the group’s fundraising initiatives is the Pegasus Ball, held at the splendid Grand Connaught Rooms in London. A gala dinner, complete with fundraising raffles and an auction, would be headlined by world renowned house music DJ, Danny Rampling.
Danny is widely credited as one of the original founders of the UK’s rave/club scene. An original ‘Superstar DJ’, Rampling remains a true pioneer and visionary of global dance music.

Four Robe Pointe moving head projectors supplied fast moving lighting over the dancefloor.
Last Words

“It’s a great honour to be asked to DJ at such an important and special fundraising event for the 10 Battalion memorial. I can always rely on David at Sound Division to supply the equipment I need to ensure the sound would be perfect, and the evening would go without a hitch.” — Danny Rampling.
