Loud and clear sound for high tech roadshow

The Event

Celebrating 50 years of head-turning design, Oakley continues to be a leading, high-performance, sports glasses and accessories life-style brand. Commitment to optics innovation saw a major 1980s breakthrough in ski goggle protection with the “O-Frame”, and more new designs soon followed.

The Oakley “O-Lab” mobile science lab was later developed for touring around the world to create awareness of the brand’s latest “High Definition Optics” technology and protective materials stress testing. 

When the O-Lab roadshow was scheduled to appear at a Flora half-marathon fun run in Hyde Park, Sound Division was asked to supply and set up a DJ system for the Oakley promotion.

Self-powered 2-way speaker system

A key brief was to provide a loud and clear sound system with to attract visitor attention to the Oakley mobile lab. 

Sound Division supplied an EV-SX self-powered two-way system with separate bass and mid/high speakers and a complementary DJ set up consisting of industry-standard Pioneer CDJ2000 players and a DJM900 Mixer. 

The Result

The Hyde Park promotion was judged to be a huge success for Oakley, turbo-charged by a DJ and sound system combo keeping the roadshow busy.
