We were asked to provide a premium quality BGM system, flexible enough to allow multiple music input sources to be played out to two distinct zones; the dining room and the deli takeaway bar.

Another requirement was that the system had to be able to support small live events, speeches, and parties – making it simple for customers or entertainers to ‘plug-in’ and play.

System Solution

For the main dining area, we split the room into two separate audio zones, allowing different volume levels and audio sources to be selected in each. In terms of equipment, we installed a set of four Martin Audio CCD5 compact loudspeakers in the main room whilst a single CCD5 covers the “snug” – a bijou dining space at the rear of the restaurant – mirroring the audio from the main dining room. The third zone is served by four additional Martin Audio CCD5T speakers, which we installed in the deli takeaway and casual dining area. Martin 4.8T ceiling speakers in the washroom area, make up the fourth and final audio zone.

We also installed plug-in points for the Mackie Mix8 portable mixer and Shure dual wireless microphone for easy and straightforward reinforcement of speeches and music, whilst a total of four remote volume control/source selector panels are strategically positioned around the restaurant enable fingertip local control of volume levels and source selection.
