The Client

Mere restaurant is situated on the northern end of Charlotte Street, London. Owned by high-profile chef Monica Galleti, Mere offers an elegant dining choice across two floors, with a particular emphasis on the wine list.

The downstairs restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere with well-spaced tables and soft lighting while a buzzing upstairs bar is a destination on its own, or ideal for a pre or post dinner hang out. More luxurious options are also available in the form of the Chef’s Table or private dining room.

Project Brief

We were asked for a system capable of delivering high-quality, subtle background music across both floors of the restaurant to match the high quality dining experience, as well as creating an engaging vibe for the upstairs bar.

System Solution

We opted for an end-to-end solution from Cloud Electronics as it met all the requirements for both performance and aesthetics. At the heart of the eight-zone system is a Cloud DCM-1 Digital Control Mixer connected to Cloud amplifiers. These provide the audio to several Cloud ceiling and surface-mount speakers spread across six audio zones. Localised source selection and volume control is managed via Cloud CDR-1 flush-mounted control panels positioned discreetly and conveniently for staff.

We also installed a large flush-mount 46” Samsung LED display in the private dining room, with a live video link to the Chef’s pass in the kitchen, allowing diners to see dishes being prepared prior to arrival at the table.
