Greyhound Café

Zoned restaurant music system

The Client

From fashion to food: in 1980 Greyhound first opened its doors in Bangkok as a fashion label, managed by four partners passionate about fashion and lifestyle. In 1998 the brand expanded to cuisine, opening the first Greyhound Café.

Greyhound Café offers Thai food with a twist. It delivers a taste of modern contradictions where east meets west, traditional meets international, street meets couture, all fused together in a beautifully chaotic way.

Located in the heart of Fitzrovia, Mortimer Street, the inaugural Greyhound Café is perfectly suited to post-work drinks with colleagues, a private feast, or a cocktail party. For private functions, a cosy underground room can accommodate up 24 people seated and 40 standing.

Project Brief

We were introduced to the project by B3 Designers Ltd and asked to integrate a multi-zoned audio system for the ground floor reception, dining and bar areas with remote input and control points.

Sound Division was also invited to supply high-quality audio for the private basement room, complete with the same remote control and input points.

System Solution

We installed a combination of Bose DS40 wall and ceiling loudspeakers throughout the Greyhound Café to provide distributed, uniform background music from a variety of music sources connected directly to a Cloud multi-zone mixer and remotely via wall input panels.

Management and staff can control volume levels and switch between music sources at the centralised control point, or via remote source/volume controls strategically placed around the venue.

End game

“The project at Greyhound Café witnesses another high-class audio installation at one of London’s hippest restaurants. As usual, we collaborated with all parties involved to ensure an efficient delivery of our services, accompanied by after-sales care.” — David Graham, Director, Sound Division
