Lincoln Plaza Launch

Canary Wharf development launch for Galliard Homes

The Event

Offering breathtaking views, first-class facilities, and unparalleled living quarters in a location of international prestige, Lincoln Plaza, built by Galliard Homes is a magnificent new addition to Canary Wharf’s iconic skyline. It is no surprise that the properties on sale for this launch have all subsequently been purchased.

Sound Division were called in to assist with the technical production services to ensure that this spectacular launch event ran smoothly. Having already established a working relationship with Galliard Homes during similar launch events, they were a natural choice.

Production Services

Sound Division supplied a high-end portable PA system, along with a pair of Sennheiser EW300 handheld radio microphone to distribute background music, welcome speeches, and announcements. The sound system consisted of several d&b E8 loudspeakers, chosen for their excellent speech intelligibility and high-quality music reproduction. Furthermore, their compact design and flexible mounting options make them perfect for event use. Audio for the event was engineered using a compact, easy-to-operate XU10 analogue Yamaha mixing desk.

A 20-metre red carpet flanked by two gas-powered flambeaux lighting effects greeted guests upon arrival. Twenty-four high output Chauvet LED uplighters illuminated walkways, walls, and pillars, bathing the entrance in an atmospheric colourwash of light.

A further twenty Chauvet LED uplighters in a sleek black finish, supported by a dozen Chauvet MR16 pin-spot LED lights highlighted surrounding planters and trees. This became especially effective as the daylight faded and the evening drew in.

Inside, three Chauvet moving head Gobo projectors with custom-made Gobos were deployed to project a moving ‘Galliard Homes’ logo across the walkway walls and ceiling, putting their seal on the project.

Last Words

Sean Salinas, Project Manager, Sound Division: “This event presented an interesting contrast between ostentatiousness and discretion. On the one hand, we quite literally laid out the red carpet for guests, spotlighting their entrance. However, the lighting, and compact loudspeakers beyond this were selected to enhance Lincoln Plaza’s natural charm.”

“Two of the key aspects were the ideas of transportability and flexibility. In particular, the radio microphone and supporting apparatus had to be wireless, enabling the delivery of ‘on the fly’ speeches. Fortunately, this is an area that we have expertise in, and have specified the equipment for similar events before.”
